Yesterday, March 30, 2009 in Gallarate was held the first "round" for communal action and multiculturalism.
The aim of our initiatives is to create an atmosphere of widespread social and trust among the people, an objective to be pursued through mutual understanding of people and cultures. To achieve this
yesterday held the first "round".
We had a dozen people at the station and have a drink to be offered free to commuters and anyone who was present. We also distributed a leaflet, describing the traditions of peoples of southern Africa. This is precisely to raise awareness of other cultures and thus lead people to not be afraid of immigrants, but to know aspects and traditions.
The initiative has had some success (although we could not arrive at rush hour commuters) and several people stopped and expressed interest in and solidarity with the initiative, both Italians and foreigners. Some of them are above all stopped for a long while also providing us with their help. All this made us realize how important these kinds of initiatives, and that is why the initiative will re-present each Monday at 6:30 am, changing from time to time flyers to talk about different cultures and always looking for other forms to make the initiative even more interesting.
